We have some rooms available for anyone who may be attending from afar, or who may not want to make the drive back to their homes outside the city. Whatever your rationale, if you are looking for available rooms, we have a block of rooms available at the Comfort Inn on Banksville Road.
Why Banksville Road? It’s minutes from the city, and the rates we secured for the event can’t be beat. (Staying at the Comfort in on Banksville is $69.99 a night versus $120.00 a night (or higher) at downtown hotels.) We are working on the logistics for morning and evening “shuttle” services, and may have options available in that regard.
If you are interested in booking a room in the PodCamp Pittsburgh block of rooms, feel free to contact the Comfort Inn at (412) 343-3000.
The block of rooms at the $69.99 rate is only available through September 10, 2010 (this Friday). If you are interested, you will need to book your room prior to that date. Although rooms will probably be available after September 10th, the $69.99 rate will not apply, and you will need to pay the regular hotel rate.
Just a heads-up to attendees (and presenters) that a few sessions may change between now and PodCamp. We will try to keep everyone updated as best we can from now through the event. A final printed schedule will be available at the registration desk both Saturday and Sunday of PodCamp. Although we try our best to lay out the schedule in advance enough for people to plan accordingly, circumstances do arise which require changes to be made. Any changes made through Friday, September 17th will be updated on the online schedule. Any changes made after that will be announced at the event.
Earlier this afternoon, Podcamp Pittsburgh representatives Norm Huelsman and myself had the pleasure to talk Podcamp Pittsburgh 5, podcasting, and social media in general over on The Tech Buzz: Thirsty Thursday Tech Episode 41. Check it out here, and pass it along to anyone that might be curious about Podcamp!
A big thanks to Stephen Heywood for having us on. You can also check out some more Podcamp Pittsburgh talk, and a bit more about his show, from his appearance on this week’s AwesomeCast!
We already posted the Saturday schedule. And, we’ve worked out the Sunday schedule. Much like the Saturday schedule, if you click on the session title, you can find more information about each session.
As we are now but a mere 17 days away, the final schedule is shaping up nicely. Final Saturday sessions have been confirmed. Please refer to the following schedule, as times and sessions have changed from the tentative schedule that was previously posted. Please note that sessions are linked to a description of the session and a brief bio for the speakers. (Click the session title to get that information.) Some sessions have limited information at this time, as we are still receiving updated session descriptions and speaker bios from the speakers. That information should be updated within the next week.
