What is Podcasting? Podcasting (both video and audio) is the recording of music, your voice, or video in a digital format for ease of sharing via the internet. Podcasting is as simple as taking a basic audio or video file and publishing it in episodes. While a podcast isn’t, itself, a blog, it often uses a blog to distribute the file. Think of it as a blog with an attachment.
How complicated is Podcasting? It’s easier than you think! All you need is a digital recording device (computer microphone, digital recorder) and basic software that comes with most computers and podcasting platform sites.
Podcasting is more focused on episodic content than the other means of social networking. Maybe it’s a movie review podcast that is published weekly, or a weekly episode of an internet series. The key to podcasting is picking a theme and sticking with it.
Why podcast? For fun! Podcasting allows you to create your own “radio” or “TV” show and broadcast it, essentially for free!
