POP City Wraps Up Their Visit To #PCPGH4 PDF  | Print |  Email

Caralyn Green of POP City shares thoughts about attending Podcamp Pittsburgh 4 this past weekend. Sounds like she enjoyed the people and was particularly impressed by everyone’s spirit.

My challenge to interested in organizing #PCPGH5: How will you better cater some session topics to social media newbies like Patrick’s wife? More importantly, how will you make the experienced attendees seem more approachable to first-timers?

Dawn Papuga asks that you please see the form provided below.

Updated based on feedback from Caralyn. My apologies for the initial errors. – Anthony

Podcamp!

PodCamp Pittsburgh 4 has come and gone and the organizers couldn’t have been more proud of this years event! We hope that you can take what you have learned during PodCamp and improve your new media ventures. If you are just starting out remember you have a whole community rooting for you, don’t for get to ask them to help. Over the next few days, weeks and months as you create blogs, videos and podcasts share them with the PCPGH community through our various channels listed below.

There has been a great call for the session videos. The PCPGH organizing committee is working to quickly make those available to you. As we work out this process for the first time we’re asking for you patience. Check back on this site (subscribe to the RSS Feed) or keep an eye on the #pcpgh4 hash tag for updates. With that said our goal is to make them available by the end of the week.

Thanks again to everyone who made PodCamp Pittsburgh 4 a success from the sponsors to the organizers to every rockstar.

Norm Huelsman, co-organizer

PodCamp Pittsburgh 4 has come and gone, but the knowledge, experience and memories will remain with everyone who was a part of the event.  On behalf of the organizers for PodCamp Pittsburgh 4, I would like to thank everyone who made this year’s event a success.

It is with the interest of the attendees that we set out to make PodCamp Pittsburgh happen.  Without the attendees, we would be a relatively small group of individuals discussing the ins and outs of social media and technology amongst ourselves.  We certainly appreciate the opportunity to both present our knowledge to the many attendees and learn from those very attendees through questions and conversations both in and out of the classrooms, as well as to learn from presenters who came in from other areas, both geographically and knowledgeably.  With as many attendees as were present for this year’s event, it certainly helps me feel good that so many people have an interest in what PodCamp Pittsburgh has to offer.

Of course, the event could not have been done without the support of our many sponsors.  Whether a monetary donation or a donation of goods and services, we certainly realize that PodCamp Pittsburgh would not be as successful without some assistance.  I certainly thank each of our sponsors accordingly.  Through the crazy stages of organizing the event, I cannot emphasize my heartfelt thanks to each of the sponsors who made at least a little part of the craziness return to calm as each of the pieces started to fit in making the event come together.

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank all of the organizers and volunteers.  I realize how hard each of us has worked to make PodCamp Pittsburgh 4 a successful event.  Although I may not have had an opportunity to personally thank all of the organizers and volunteers individually, I certainly want to take a moment to thank everyone for their hard work.

Kudos to all for a fun and successful event.  I can’t wait for PodCamp Pittsburgh 5!

Earlier this week, Missy Sorg and I had the chance to sit down with former “PittGirl” Virginia Montanez. We had a great time at a local Panera Bread talking about TheBurghBlog, identity scares, how exposing her identity with the unveiling of ThatsChurch has changed things for her, meeting the people she’s known digitally, the new restaurant, and dealing with CNN.

Pittsburgh Magazine

PodCamp Pittsburgh 4 would like to welcome Pittsburgh Magazine as one of this year’s gold sponsors.  Pittsburgh Magazine is making waves in the Pittsburgh new/social media scene and has recently become a new home of one of Pittsburgh’s very own social media celebrities, Pitt Girl.  They can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.  Although Pittsburgh Magazine is a print magazine available to the public, Pittsburgh Magazine is also a local force helping to bridge the gap between old media and new/social media through their online presence, and we heartily welcome them aboard for PodCamp Pittsburgh 4.
